What is the right DG2 software for me?

In the last year we have completely re-vamped our software offerings and added a number of new styles and techniques to the mix. We often get the question "which one software or which combination of tools would be the right one for me to use now, given my particular situation?"

While ultimately this is a personal question with different answers for everyone, here are some guidelines to help you decide. Be sure you also to check out our comparison chart of software features and our software overview page.

DG2 "Lite" Software
If you purchase the Drummond Geometry Lessons 1-3, you get the "Lite" software as part of the package. It is what it suggests, a "lite" software that can display DG levels and lines for the daily timeframe only, is not capable of higher-time period overlays. It is sufficient to give you an introduction to Drummond Geometry but if you are seriously considering trading this methodology you will soon want the more powerful capabilities of our more advanced software. DG2 "Advanced" Software
If you are an intermediate level trader, our "Advanced" software may be right for you. It can handle multiple time period overlays, and chart the most important basic DG lines and levels. It does not handle the "nearby" and "furtherout" support and resistance concepts, and does not permit access to the full DG2 Database -- but not every trader needs these advanced capabilities. More

DG2 "Professional" Software
For serious traders this is the recommended starting package, as it handles all DG lines and levels, and permits access to the full DG2 database. Most of the tools are presented in a convenient pre-programmed "turn-on/turn-off" mode that does not require lengthy configuration. This software should be completely adequate for traditional P&L or DG traders. More

DG2 "Plot" Software
This software might be called the "Professional Package on steroids." It has of lot of flexibility and permits control over how every plot is displayed. It also demands more trader involvement in its configuration. This software is for the trader who likes to tinker with charts and develop a personal customized display. "Plot" software also has access to the full DG2 database of more than 3700 possible values over nine different timeframes. It is a supremely flexible and powerful tool. More

DG2 "Specialty Suite" Software
In the last two years Charles Drummond has produced a creative flurry of software that is now included in our "Specialty Suite". Because of their charting complexity each new tool has its separate software so they can conveniently deployed. If you want the most advanced and experimental Drummond Geometry, this is the software for you. More
The Specialty Suite includes:

  • DG2 Blues Primarily a tool that displays the six zones, of which one and six are known as the "Blues"
  • DG2 Refresh Bands A graphic enhancement of the Higher Time Period envelope/live envelope charting that presents support and resistance bands for the trader's consideration.
  • DG2 Pipes The latest-greatest software, also known as "EOTEM" for "easy on the eyes and mind". This is an innovative momentum indicator combined with a projected range bar that predicts near-term future activity. We regard this as a genuine creative leap forward. If you are an experienced DG trader and have been following the MOGS you will not want to miss the "Pipes"
  • DG2 Mother Goose A development tool along the way towards the creation of the Pipes, the MG Charting holds its own value.
  • DG2 Multi Long-Term Charting TradeStation does not permit quarterly or yearly charting, yet these are essential for many DG traders. So we created the "Multi" charting for longer timeframes: you get full DG tools and their HTP overlays, all for quarterly or yearly charts.
  • DG2 Four 5-9's A support and resistance tool that builds on the power of the 5/9's as valid support and resistance. This tool combines the most recent 5/9s into a band of resistance and support.

    • DG2 "Alerts" Software
    Targeted for the sophisticated trader, the "Alerts" software is a specialized tool that relieves the trader from the burden of watching the screen all day long. It watches the market for you and gives notice when the appropriate trading opportunity arises. The Alerts handles complex tasks, and can be tailored to individual trading styles. More

    DG2 Developers API Software
    If you program your own trading systems in EasyLanguage, this package will let you call any of the 3700+ DG lines or levels into your TradeStation systems. Our API is intended for advanced traders with some programming ability; familiarity with EasyLanguage is assumed. More
